This is the logo for my new trading card idea. The type setting is Kerpow from House Industries Photo Lettering site. It's a great service. They gave me a nice little nod on their blog!

An open letter to Topps

Dear Topps,

I just picked up some Wacky Packages (which I have loved since I was a kid) for 3.99 a pop and all I get now is 3 cards and a stick of crappy gum? That’s basically a buck a card and $0.99 for a stick of gum. With the economy the way it is, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I’m sad to say I won’t be buying any more cards until you either drop the price or start putting in more cards per pack.

Sincerely,

Jason Chalker

Space Junk! is my new trading card idea. I will have oversized (5"x7") preview cards with me at the Fan Days convention in Arlington, TX in October. I don't know if this is something people will be into or not, so I'm doing the samples before I go full bore and make the first series. There will be 4 different preview cards. These are the fronts and backs of the first two cards. (Click the images to view them larger)

Feel free to let me know what you think!

I survived my first year as an exhibitor at San Diego Comic-Con. It was an interesting experience. Very different from any con I've ever had a table at. I think it went pretty well.

On a completely unrelated subject, here is a Dracula Mini-fig mini-painting!

4"x6" Acrylic on illustration board.
